Attaching files
You can keep files with a memo as they are. This is for things you want to keep the original of, such as meeting handouts or invoices.
[Adding] Open the Attachments tab in the memo editor and choose Add file. While you are editing the body you can also use the paper clip in the toolbar's insert group (⊞), which switches to the Attachments tab and opens the file picker. On the web you can also drag and drop files onto the editor. Uploading starts as soon as you add the file; it does not wait for the memo to be saved.
[Opening and removing] Tap a file name in the list to open it with an app on your device (on the web it downloads). Use the × on the right to remove it. Removing deletes the file itself and cannot be undone.
[Limits] Up to 25MB per file and around 10 files per memo. Executables and installers cannot be attached. Attachments work the same way on the free plan.
[If something goes wrong] A file whose upload did not finish is shown as Incomplete. Try again right away, or remove it and attach it once more. After you close the app, retrying is no longer possible, so remove it and attach it again.
[Signing in is required] Attachments are stored in the cloud and synced to all your devices, so you need to be signed in. They are not available in local mode.
[On protected memos] Files attached to a protected memo are encrypted on your device — both the contents and the file name — before being stored. Opening one decrypts it on your device, so an internet connection is required (offline you can see the list but cannot open them). Because of the encryption step, the limit here is 8MB per file.
