Chrome Extension (Clone+ for Chrome)

Clone+ for Chrome is a Chrome extension that brings Clone+ to your browser: clip text and images, summarize pages with AI, and create memos.

Setup

1. Install the Clone+ for Chrome extension
2. A connection page opens automatically - sign in (if you are already signed in to Clone+ on the web, just press "Link")

To clip text

1. Select text on any web page
2. Right-click and choose "Save to Clone+"
3. The selection is saved as a memo with the page title, the source URL, and the web-clip tag

To clip an image

1. Right-click an image on any web page
2. Choose "Save image to Clone+" (Up to 10 MB; JPEG / PNG / GIF / WebP / HEIC. Some images cannot be fetched due to site restrictions)

To summarize a page with AI

1. Click the Clone+ toolbar icon → "Summarize this page" (or right-click the page → "Summarize this page (review before saving)")
2. AI summarizes the page and shows it as a draft in the memo form of the side panel (nothing is saved yet)
3. Review it, edit if needed, then press "Save" to store it as a memo tagged summary ("Discard" throws the draft away)

• If you have text selected, only the selection is summarized
• YouTube videos are summarized from their transcript
• Summaries count toward your AI usage meter (even if you do not save them)

To create a new memo

Open the Clone+ toolbar icon and write a title and body right there.

Saved memos sync to all your devices and can be listed via the web-clip tag. Available on both Free and Premium (AI summaries are subject to usage limits).

Notes

• If saving fails and a connection notice appears, click the notification to reconnect
• Line breaks in the selected text may be collapsed into spaces (a Chrome limitation)

Chat with your memos in the Chat tab

In the "Chat" tab at the top of the side panel, the AI automatically searches your saved memos and uses them to answer your questions. Turn on "Use this page" to also ground answers in the web page you have open. Open "Referenced" under a reply to see which memos the AI used (with relevance and matched excerpts) and click one to open it in the Clone+ web app. Use "New chat" to reset the conversation (chat counts toward the AI usage meter).

On YouTube video pages, the video captions are used instead of the page text (if the video has no captions, the page content is used; for long videos only the beginning of the captions is used).
