Writing & Editing Notes

The core feature for creating, editing, and formatting notes.

To create a note

  1. Tap the + button in the note list
  2. A new note opens
  3. Enter your content

Alternative methods:

To format text

  1. Select the text you want to format
  2. Choose a format from the toolbar:

To insert an image

  1. Tap the + button on the toolbar
  2. Choose "Image" and pick from camera, gallery, or files
  3. You can also paste a copied image via long-press → Paste

Note: Sign-in is required to use images (max 10 MB each). Images sync to all your devices as part of the memo body.

Note: URLs in the body are linked automatically. Tap them (Ctrl/⌘+Click on web) to open.

To input by voice

  1. Tap the microphone button on the toolbar while editing the body
  2. Allow microphone access when asked (first time only)
  3. Speak — what you are saying appears above the toolbar, and each time you pause it is confirmed and inserted at the cursor position
  4. Recognition keeps running until you tap the microphone again to stop

Note: On iOS and Android, voice input uses your device's speech recognition. On the web it works in Chrome, Edge and Safari using the browser's own speech recognition — what you say may be sent to the browser vendor's servers, so a confirmation is shown the first time you use it. The microphone button is hidden in browsers that don't support it, such as Firefox.

Note: voice input is also available in the chat composer (the mic button inside the chat input box).

To insert a table

  1. Tap the + button in the toolbar
  2. Select "Table" and specify rows and columns
  3. Tap a cell to edit
  1. Select the "Tags", "Related Notes", or "Reference URLs" tab at the bottom of the note editor
  2. Add from each tab

※ Character limits are 200 for title and 20,000 for body.

※ The title field is optional. If saved empty, a title is automatically generated from the body by AI on save (available on all plans). If generation is unavailable, the first 30 characters of the body are shown as a display-only fallback in lists (the stored title stays empty).

※ When auto-save is disabled, a confirmation dialog appears on navigation with unsaved changes.

Automatic protection of unsaved input

What you type is automatically backed up on your device every few seconds. If the app closes unexpectedly, you can restore the draft the next time you open the editor (drafts stay on your device only, up to 20, kept for 14 days).
