AI Chat

Talk with the AI, grounded in the content of your memos.

To start an AI chat

1. Tap the "Chat" tab in the bottom navigation
2. Type and send a message

※ AI uses your note content as context for responses (streaming supported). The chat session is preserved when switching to other tabs.

To start a new chat

• Tap the "+" (new chat) icon at the top of the Chat screen

To manage chat history

1. Tap the menu icon at the top left (or swipe from the left edge)
2. In the history panel, select, rename, or delete sessions

To stop a response while it is being written

1. While a response is being generated, the send button in the input box turns into a stop button (■)
2. Tap it to stop right there

※ Whatever has been written stays in the conversation ("Stopped here" appears below it), and you can keep asking from there.

※ If you stop before anything has appeared, the question you sent is discarded as well.

To ask by voice

1. Tap the mic button inside the chat input box
2. What you say goes straight into the input box. The part that is not confirmed yet is shown in grey with a dashed underline, and it is rewritten if you rephrase
3. While listening, a waveform appears below the input box and moves as you speak. Tap ✓ at the bottom right when you are done, or ✕ to discard just the part that is not confirmed yet

※ It keeps listening until you stop it — long silences will not end it on their own.

Note: you can edit the text before sending. This uses the same mechanism as voice input for notes; the mic button is hidden on devices and browsers that do not support it.

To have the AI search the web

1. Tap the globe icon (Web search) in the chat input row to turn it on
2. Send your question as usual

• When on, the AI searches the web only when it decides it needs to. Questions it can answer from your notes or its own knowledge won't trigger a search.
• When it does search, links to the sources appear at the end of the reply. A reply without those links did not use the web.
• Where the reply draws on one of your notes, a link to that note appears inline. Tap it to open the note. The "Related notes" list below the reply also shows only the notes actually used (nothing appears if none were).
• Off by default. It stays on for the rest of the time you have the app open, and returns to off the next time you open it.
• Available on Free too (past the AI usage allowance, mobile can continue by watching an ad and web shows a next-day reset notice).

※ AI chat and Quiz are available on the Web Free plan as well. On Mobile, watching an ad resets the accumulated quota when the threshold is reached. On Web there is no accumulated-token check; only the server-side 6-hour and weekly cost caps apply (the next reset time is shown in the usage meter on the account screen).

※ Web keyboard shortcuts: press Enter to send, Shift + Enter for a new line. On mobile, tap the send button to send; Enter inserts a newline. The help chat uses the same shortcuts.

※ On the chat screen the sidebar keeps the history area large, so Tags, Archive, Trash and Settings are grouped under "Show more". Tap it to expand or collapse (other screens list them as before).

Turning an AI answer into your own note

1. Tap the icon under the answer
2. A new note opens with that answer quoted below
3. The cursor sits above the quote, so you can write what you took away from it

It is a place to write what you took from the answer, not a way to save the answer as-is. No AI call is made, so it does not use up your allowance.

Asking about notes with a specific tag

1. Write #tagname in your question and send it

• Notes carrying a tag you wrote with # are given priority as references for the answer.
• Without the #, a word like "reading" is not treated as a tag, so only notes that are close in content are used.
• This does not narrow the answer down to that tag alone. Notes without the tag are still used when their content is close.
• The example questions shown on a new chat screen that contain #tagname use exactly this form.
